Bandits, Banks, and Better Battles

A sharper new interface, two town shopkeepers, Bandits, Rogue's hideout, rare Rabbits, expanded banking, allies, duels, new consumables, authoritative movement, and a large collection of fixes and improvements.

Enemies, Creatures, and Combat

  • Added hostile Bandits to the Forest.
  • Added the Rogue Hideout, run by the rogue leader Melvus
  • Added a rare drop from Melvus's Chest, and a rare glove drop from Melvus
  • Bandits patrol the area, pursue nearby players, and shout threats when attacking.
  • Bandits can drop gold and will sometimes spawn with equipment.
  • Added Rabbits to the River.
  • Added the rare Crimson Rabbit.
  • Rabbits flee from nearby players and can drop gold or Rabbit Pelts.
  • The Crimson Rabbit can drop additional gold and the rare Crimson Rabbit Pelt.
  • Improved mob roaming, patrol, and pursuit behavior.
  • Improved mob obstacle avoidance around walls, foliage, paths, bridges, and docks.
  • Improved eight-direction mob facing and movement animations.
  • Mob animation speed now scales with actual movement speed.
  • Humanoid enemies can continue moving while performing upper-body attack animations.
  • Improved physical-contact validation for enemy attacks.

Player Combat, Allies, and Duels

  • Added Neutral, Hostile, Wanted, Dangerous, and Wanted & Dangerous combat states.
  • Players can enter Hostile mode after unlocking PvP, turning their name red.
  • Hostile players can attack other eligible players outside protected areas.
  • Attacking neutral players can make the attacker Wanted, enclosing their name in excalamation points.
  • Killing players marks the attackers as Dangerous (Darker red).
  • Non-neutral players cannot enter protected towns or vaults.
  • Players can cast scrolls after a short cooldown after turning hostile.
  • Added mutual player alliances.
  • Use ally <name> to request an alliance.
  • The other player can use ally <name> to accept the alliance.
  • Use unally <name> to end an alliance.
  • Use allies to list your current allies.
  • Mutual allies are protected from accidentally attacking one another.
  • Added non-lethal player duels inside safe zones and banks.
  • Use duel <full player name> to challenge another player.
  • The challenged player can enter the same command to accept.
  • Duel opponents are displayed with orange names.
  • Duels end before either participant can be killed.
  • Duels automatically end if a participant leaves, camps out, changes zones, or enters a non-neutral combat state.

Shops, Items, and Potions

  • Added two new shopkeepers to town.
  • Melody the alchemist sells Healing Potions, Ale, and Juice.
  • Tonlak the hunter sells Wooden Clubs, Crude Bows, and Arrows.
  • Merchants have limited stock that replenishes over time.
  • Merchants can purchase appropriate items from players.
  • Merchant greetings, prices, transaction results, and farewells now appear in Game chat under the merchant’s name.
  • Added Ale, which restores a small amount of health and temporarily makes the player drunk.
  • Added Juice, which gradually restores health.
  • Added the Barkskin Potion, which temporarily increases armor.
  • Added the Potion of Greater Life, which restores a larger amount of health.
  • Added the Potion of Stoneskin, which greatly increases armor but reduces movement speed.
  • Added the Potion of Charging, which greatly increases movement speed.
  • Added the Potion of Concealing, which temporarily makes the player nearly invisible.
  • Added the Potion of Agility, which temporarily increases dodge chance.
  • Added the Potion of Perception, which increases visibility and helps reveal concealed characters and hidden names.
  • Improved the display and handling of temporary buffs, debuffs, and consumable effects.

Banks and Vaults

  • Gold can now be deposited into a bank account while inside a bank.
  • Use drop X or deposit X inside the bank to deposit gold for safe keeping.
  • Use withdraw X to return banked gold to your wallet.
  • Banked gold survives death.
  • Only gold carried in your wallet can be dropped on death.
  • The HUD displays your bank balance while inside a staffed bank.
  • Account summaries and leaderboards now count wallet and banked gold together.
  • Gold physically stored inside a vault is separate and unaccounted for.
  • Improved the vault-renovation store and vault customizer.
  • Added layout quotes and confirmation before applying renovations.
  • Improved module rotation, mirroring, placement previews, and invalid-placement feedback.
  • Improved the handling of stored items and existing modules while renovating.
  • Failed vault loads now retry and safely return the player to the bank if recovery is unsuccessful.
  • Items in the vault no longer fall through the floor. Lol.

Achievements

  • Added 11 hidden achievements covering gold, total levels, unlocked skills, tutorial completion, and vault progression.
  • Added achievement-completion banners and sounds.
  • Achievement progress, completion, and rewards are saved per character.
  • Achievement rewards can only be granted once, including across reconnects and world handoffs.
  • Existing characters automatically receive progress for requirements they had already completed.

NPCs, Skills, and Quests

  • The Old Traveler can now help players focus the Life skill.
  • Eilune can now help players focus the Survival skill.
  • Skill-focusing prices scale with the player’s current skill level.
  • Dialogue choices with gold or item requirements remain visible when their requirements are not met.
  • Dialogue requirements are color-coded to show missing, partial, and completed requirements.
  • Dialogue requirements are now validated by the server before a choice is accepted.
  • Dialogue layouts now use one column for smaller conversations and two columns for larger conversations.
  • Improved the Survival Quest’s Chicken Foot and Bat Wing objectives.
  • These objectives now require the player to continue possessing the items until they are turned in.
  • Quest readiness is removed if a required item is dropped, spent, or lost.
  • Added alert banners for newly unlocked skills and completed quests.
  • Existing alerts are remembered so they are not replayed after reconnecting.

UI, Fonts, and Accessibility

  • Reworked fonts throughout the game for a cleaner, sharper, and more consistent interface.
  • Improved font sizing, outlines, contrast, spacing, and pixel clarity throughout the interface.
  • Reworked the main menu, login screen, options screen, loading screen, death screen, dialogue window, inventory, gear, quest, skill, and vault layouts.
  • Gear, Quests, and Skills now share a cleaner bottom HUD panel that smoothly reveals upward.
  • Reorganized options into expandable Display, Audio, World Detail, Lighting and Color, and Atmosphere and Weather sections.
  • Improved dialogue wrapping, content sizing, choice placement, and NPC portraits.
  • Improved quest titles, descriptions, objectives, tabs, and empty states.
  • Improved inventory and equipment-label readability.
  • Improved achievement, quest, skill-unlock, and general alert banners.
  • Added clearer overhead-name colors for neutral, hostile, allied, wanted, infamous, and dueling players.
  • Allied players are green, allied Wanted players are orange, and allied Infamous players are dark orange.
  • NPC names are now hidden at long distances while interaction prompts remain limited to interaction range.
  • Improved spoken text, status labels, interaction prompts, and damage-number styling.
  • Improved loading-progress and death-loss information.
  • NPC dialogue opening and closing lines now appear in Game chat using the NPC’s name and color.

Wildlife and World

  • Expanded the ambient-wildlife catalog to 31 species.
  • Improved wildlife reactions to terrain, water, foliage, flowers, weather, seasons, and time of day.
  • Added obstacle-aware duck families with following ducklings.
  • Bees and butterflies can land on flowers.
  • Improved river and ocean surface behavior.
  • Improved water coverage around terrain, bridges, docks, shores, and cliff edges.
  • Improved directional river currents and the visual distinction between rivers and oceans.
  • Added shallow-water footstep splashes.
  • Rain puddles now add splash effects over the underlying surface footsteps.
  • Improved water occlusion inside boats.
  • Reduced fog during normal Rain while retaining the heavier Storm atmosphere.
  • Improved the menu’s world view so it reflects current weather, clouds, wind, and time of day more efficiently.

Website and Launcher

  • Expanded leaderboards to the top 250 characters, with 50 results per page.
  • Added leaderboard categories for Total Level, Combined Gold, Achievements Completed, Player Kills, Enemies Slain, Deaths, and Active Wanted Time.
  • Improved leaderboard tie handling, ratios, duration formatting, and empty-score filtering.
  • Improved responsive leaderboard navigation.
  • Further improved website text readability and update spacing.
  • Improved account-summary gold totals to include banked gold.
  • Signing out of the launcher now immediately revokes the launcher session.
  • Improved launcher update, packaging, and account-session reliability.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several lighting and environment problems when entering or leaving vaults.
  • Fixed vault interiors occasionally modifying the outdoor world’s lighting.
  • Fixed failed vault rendering occasionally leaving the player in an invalid state.
  • Fixed damage numbers occasionally becoming permanent status labels.
  • Fixed several death and respawn state inconsistencies.
  • Fixed damage sometimes being accepted during the death transition.
